The characters don’t really seem to get much of an introduction, and they’re thrown at you from the start – there’s no time to meet one before you’re in the mix of twins, cousins, teams, rivals from the past, and zero context about what the sport even is. I must say though, I was thoroughly confused about what was happening in the first fifty pages. There are plot twists and character rivalries and that much subterfuge and secrets going on that it’s no wonder this book has so much hype.
